Nerges Azizi

Dr. Nerges Azizi completed her PhD in Law at Birkbeck, University of London. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a double Bachelor’s degree in Political and Social Sciences from Sciences Po Paris and Freie Universität Berlin. She has previously worked as a Carlo Schmid Fellow at the Ethics Office of UNHCR in Geneva, and as a lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin and Philipps-Universität Marburg, among others. Nerges joined ECCHR in January 2025 as a Legal Advisor in the Border Justice Program and, since October 2025, has been working as a Project Coordinator in the International Crimes and Accountability Program.
