Dieter Hummel is a leading labor lawyer in Germany. He is part of a national network of prominent labor lawyers who advise trade unions and defend social and labour rights on a legal and advocacy level. Hummel has written several books and articles on labor rights, trade unions and social rights. As long-time president of the Vereinigung demokratischer Juristinnen und Juristen, he also works in the area of national security, human rights and civil liberties.
