Andrea Peschel

Andrea Peschel studied visual communication and communication design in Trier and Potsdam, followed by fine art and painting in Barcelona. Alongside her artistic practice, she began working for the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation – first in Tel Aviv, later in Brussels, Berlin, and other international offices. She went on to work for the Goethe-Institute in Mexico City and later for the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, where she established and led an initiative of the German Federal Cultural Foundation. She subsequently headed the department for international climate policy and cross-cutting issues at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Foundation. From 2015 to 2024, she served as deputy director of its international department. Since 2025, Andrea Peschel has been Managing Director of the ECCHR and a member of its Executive Board.
