3. Details concerning tax exemption status
According to the corporation tax assessment certification (dated 26 February 2026), the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) e.V. (tax number 27/664/51478) is recognized as serving non-profit purposes by the Tax Office for Corporations I, Berlin, and is therefore exempt from corporate tax according to §5 para. 1 No. 9 of the corporation tax law, and from commercial tax according to §3 No. 6 of the commercial tax law. ECCHR contributes to the following non-profit pursuits in the sense of §§ 51 ff. AO
- Providing assistance to those persecuted on political, racial or religious grounds, for refugees and displaced persons (§52 para. 2 sentence 1 no. 10 AO)
- Providing assistance to victims of criminal acts (Section 52 (2) Sentence 1 No. 10 AO)

ECCHR employs a total of 46 staff members, 21 of whom work full-time and 25 part-time. In addition, six colleagues work for ECCHR in an advisory capacity. Here, the ECCHR team introduces itself.

Our annual financial statements as of 31 December 2024 were audited by Hamburger Treuhand Gesellschaft Schomerus & Partner mbB Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, Hamburg, and received an unqualified audit confirmation certification. The audit and the certification pertain exclusively to our end-of-year financial statements that we prepared in accordance with commercial law. The annual financial statements shown in this annual report differ from those within the audited report; in particular, the financial figures are summarized/abbreviated. The annual financial statements for 2025 are currently being audited and will be made available here once finalised.
