Business and Human Rights

Dr. Christian Schliemann is a qualified lawyer and legal advisor at ECCHR where he works in the Business and Human Rights program. After his law studies in Berlin and Strasbourg, Schliemann worked at Freie Universität Berlin, where among other topics, he analyzed the rules of public international law for business operations of transnational corporations in weak and failing states. He has worked on legal actions against European pesticide companies by Indian and Philippine individuals affected by health problems. He is also involved in international arbitration proceedings to enforce the rights of third parties against states and corporations.
