Annelen Micus

Dr. Annelen Micus is Co-Director of ECCHR’s Institute for Legal Intervention. Previously, she served as inaugural Head of Programmes of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oxford to foster exchange between academia and practice. She also worked with Amnesty International Germany and the Lawyers’ Collective José Alvear Restrepo (CAJAR) in Colombia, focusing on business and human rights as well as climate justice. Between 2011 and 2015, she was already part of ECCHR, working as Legal Advisor on international crimes in Colombia and the accountability of European corporations for human rights violations in Latin America.

Annelen is an Associate Fellow of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at Oxford, member of the advisory board of Stiftung Forum Recht and in the winter semester 2025/26 Clinic Fellow of the Global Justice Clinic of the University of Erfurt. She studied law in Hamburg and Buenos Aires, completed her legal traineeship in Berlin and wrote her doctoral dissertation on the role of the Inter-American Human Rights System and of transnational human rights movements in transitional justice processes in Argentina, Chile and Peru.
