Patterns of violence in Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria likely amount to international crimes, yet they remain largely unpunished. This paper reviews efforts by the ICC, UN bodies, national courts and civil society to close this gap, and the limits they face without political will. It calls on the EU and its member states to support international justice mechanisms, prosecute under universal jurisdiction, curb corporate complicity and stop trade that enables these crimes.
