International Summer School on business and human rights practice

Institute – Training & Co-learning – Future Human Rights Defenders

From 16 to 20 of September 2024 the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and Tilburg Law School will host an international summer school on business and human rights (B&HR) practice in Nuremberg.

The focus area will be business and human rights including topics such as corporate human rights abuses, human rights due diligence, transnational strategic litigation networks, the role of international criminal law in B&HR, supply chain responsibility and unfair labor practices under the German Supply Chain Act.

Speakers include Nerea Basterra (Oxfam Intermón), Phillip Paiement (Tilburg Law School), Gurgen Petrossian (International Nuremberg Principles Academy), Daniel Augenstein (Tilburg Law School & ECCHR), Markus Krajewski (FAU) and Miriam Saage-Maaβ (ECCHR) as well as other practitioners with expertise in the field of business and human rights.

 

Language: The summer school will be held in English.

Fees: 350 € (including lunches & refreshments)

Application

We invite applications from human rights practitioners and advanced students with prior knowledge on B&HR who pursue or wish to pursue a career in a civil society organization. To apply send a short letter of motivation and your CV to summerschool@ecchr.eu. Successful candidates will be notified and are expected to confirm their participation by remitting the summer school fee.
