Katharina Kersten

After studying Children’s Rights at the Freie Universität Berlin, Katharina Kersten worked at the NGO Center ÜBERLEBEN in the Children and Youth Department and as a researcher for the project area: Monitoring for the Prevention of Torture. Since 2016, she has been involved in dramaturgy and writing as a member of an independent artists’ group (in cooperation with HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts, among others). For the past six years, Katharina Kersten has co-directed an educational program at weißensee academy of art berlin, which supports prospective students with experiences of racism and addresses discrimination in access to higher education in the arts. Katharina Kersten joined the Fundraising and Partnerships team at ECCHR in November 2023.
