Yaroslavna Sychenkova

Having studied international relations in Russia, Germany and England, Yaroslavna Sychenkova obtained an LL.M degree in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the European University Viadrina in Germany with a focus on freedom of speech and protection of whistleblowers. During her studies Sychenkova was involved in protection of human rights defenders she supported Frontline Defenders in Dublin and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders in Geneva, and gained experience in International Criminal Law when supporting ECCHR as a Legal Trainee. Since February 2017, Sychenkova works as a legal advisor in the international crimes and accountability program of ECCHR, in particular on human rights violations committed in Syria.
