Helena Krüger

Dr. Helena Krüger studied law in Passau, Germany and Shanghai, China, with a focus on international law and human rights. During her doctorate on Fairness in International Criminal Proceedings she worked in a Berlin-based criminal law firm as well as at Robert Esser’s chair for European and International Criminal and Criminal Procedural Law. She completed her legal clerkship at the Berlin Higher Regional Court. From January 2022 to June 2023, she was a legal expert at the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague. In January 2024, she joined ECCHR’s International Crimes and Accountability Program as a legal advisor, where she primarily supports the work on human rights crimes in Syria.
