Annemie Schaus is professor of law and criminolgy as well as president of the Université libre de Bruxelles. She is specialized in international human rights law. Her work and teachings focus on the relationship between international and domestic law, constitutional law (including comparative public law) and human rights. She coordinates a research project financed by the French Community (Belgian federated entity) on stategic litigation in the fight against poverty and against impunity and is associated member of several university research centers. She is also a lawyer at the Brussels Bar since 1988.
