ECCHR RENDITION CONFERENCE, 2007 (WARSAW, POLAND)
In the discussion about extraordinary renditions of suspected
terrorists throughout Europe, carried out by the CIA and the secret
detention of those persons, Poland comes up in a lot of ways. Poland is
accused not only of having permitted CIA flights to use Polish
airports; moreover there is a strong suspicion that on Polish soil
there was a secret detention and interrogation prison.
This public meeting will bring together, for the first time, lawyers
and other practitioners from these countries with experienced
international lawyers, including several who are working on rendition
cases, in order to explore strategies for exposing wrongdoing by these
governments and holding them accountable.
